Following Up With Online Worshippers

by | Discipleship | 1 comment

In the last blog post, I pointed out that attendance at online services during the current shutdown is many times higher than what we were getting live, and I asked what we are going to do to disciple the new people we are reaching. As a start, here are a few ideas:

  • Continue online services to help keep the newcomers engaged once the shutdown ends
  • Put up a “Contact Us” form for prayer requests, ministry referrals, additional information, etc.
  • Offer online classes
  • Offer virtual small groups
  • Put up a resource list to help grow their spiritual life—websites, books, etc.

This is a handful of ideas I had as I started to think through the possibilities. I’m sure there are more. Please share your ideas and approaches in the comments to this post. If you are a pastor or a ministry leader, how are you following up on the people who are logging in to your service? This is an opportunity for us to learn from each other.

As part of my contribution to this effort, I am planning to begin putting up online courses this summer. Keep your eyes open for an announcement about this in the coming weeks.
