Our culture today suffers from liquid modernity, where mindsets and institutions dissolves all of the things on which we have historically built our lives and identities. In light of this, where are we from? What does it mean to be “from” somewhere? Are we “from” anywhere? Do we even have roots anymore? This article explores these questions and offers suggestions for overcoming rootlessness.
